Here we have a Vintage Advertising: 1941 "MAGIC POLISHING BLOCK" in Orig. Box, L. F. Duck Mfg. Co.. This was apparently marketed to the homeowner for repairing nicks and scratches on furniture. I found a photocopy of a page from Popular Mechanics, Dec. 1941, Page 185, that shows the company's small advertisement. Inside the original box, with original label, is a wood block with a felt pad attached to it. You were to rub this pad on the furniture and it would polish the surface. And for deeper scratches you used a match to melt some of the included colored paraffin on the scratch and when it was cool you would rub it with this pad. I thought aa advertisement collector might find this interesting ! Box is approx. 4" x 2-1/2" x 1-3/4". **
