Moshe Matus Matusovski Painting “Tzena, Tzena” Soldiers Dancing Polish Israeli Artist Moshe Matusovski (Poland/Israel, 1908 - 1958) “Tzena, Tzena”, circa 1950, gouache painting on paper depicting soldiers dancing while a soldier plays the accordion. “Tzena, Tzena” was a hit song at the time of this painting. Its music is by Issachar Miron (a.k.a. Stefan Michrovsky), a Polish emigrant in what was then the British Mandate of Palestine (now Israel), and the lyrics are by Yechiel Chagiz. The painting is signed lower left of image and titled on the metal plaque. Framed in wood frame, matted under glass. Measures 25in x 22in overall and 14in x 12in image only. Condition: Painting in excellent condition, frame has wear, nicks and scratches from age.
